Lead & Tungsten Heavy Alloy

Tungsten Heavy Alloy vs. Lead

Tungsten Heavy Alloy is superior to lead in terms of durability, dimensional stability, density and low toxicity. Tungsten Heavy Alloy does not suffer from the radioactivity or high chemical reactivity of depleted uranium.

The followings are reasons why tungsten alloy radiation shielding is better than lead:
1、Environmentally Friendly
2、Higher Density
3、Non-Toxic Alternative
4、Hardness
5、Highest Melting Point
6、Versatility
7、Cheap Disposal
8、Recyclable
9、Highly Corrosion Resistant
10、Appearance.

Tungsten Heavy Alloy can be used as a lead replacement for a variety of applications:
Ammunition (tungsten shot),
Industrial (flywheels, cases, dies, rods, plates)
Jewelry (rings, bracelets
Tungsten alloy radiation shielding (the protective mats radiologists use when taking your x-rays)
Sport (darts, golf clubs, fishing weights and lures)
Stationery (the tips used in ballpoint pens)
Weights (balance weights, wheel weights)

Tungsten Alloy Fishing Sinker

Tungsten alloy fishing sinker is made by rare metal – tungsten alloy, tungsten alloy fishing sinker is an ideal substitute of the lead fishing sinker. Tungsten alloy fishing sinker is strong adhesive, semi-solid state, soft for a long term. Tungsten Heavy Alloys concentrate maximum weight in the smallest possible space. Tungsten alloy fishing sinker is more often to be used as counterweight in sporting field, such as Tungsten alloy fishing sinker in balancing, tungsten alloy fishing sinkers, golf weights, etc.We can provide all kinds of tungsten alloy fishing sinker as your requirements. Tungsten alloy fishing sinker offered by us is qualified.

Tungsten alloy fishing sinker weights are an ideal, environmentally friendly alternative to lead weights. Tungsten alloy fishing sinker is toxic and increasingly being labeled an environmental hazard. Tungsten alloy fishing sinker is harder than steel.Tungsten alloy fishing sinker extremely dense, tungsten in Tungsten alloy fishing sinker being on average 30 percent smaller than its lead counterpart. Meanwhile, Tungsten alloy fishing sinker is smaller than conventional weights, create twice the sound of lead weights and maintain their shape for longer. Tungsten is also used in the production of other fishing applications, such as tungsten-carbide line cutters and tungsten powder coating for fishing lines.

Experts find that radiation exposure could be reduced by maxing shielding. The density of a material is related to its radiation stopping ability. Higher density means better stopping power and tungsten alloy radiation shielding. Due to a higher density, tungsten alloy radiation shielding has a much higher stopping power than lead.Tungsten alloy radiation shielding has greater linear attenuation of gamma radiations means that less is required for equal shielding. Alternatively equal amounts of tungsten alloy radiation shielding provide diminished exposure risks than equivalent lead shielding. Tungsten heavy alloy is a suitable raw material for tungsten alloy radiation shielding, as its combination of radiographic density (more than 60% denser than lead), mach inability, good corrosion resistance, high radiation absorption (superior to lead), simplified life cycle and high strength. Tungsten alloy radiation shielding can provide the same degree of protection as lead whilst significantly reducing the overall volume and thickness of shields and containers.

We can provide different kinds of tungsten alloy radiation shielding as your requirements, our tungsten alloy radiation shielding is qualified.

Tungsten Heavy Alloy vs. Tool Steel

Tool steel refers to a variety of carbon and alloy steels that are particularly well-suited to be made into tools. The ir suitability comes from their distinctive hardness, resistance to abrasion, their ability to hold a cutting edge, and/or their resistance to deformation at elevated temperatures (red-hardness). Tool steel is generally used in a heat-treated state.

Why Tungsten Heavy Alloy Is Better than Tool Steel:

Tungsten heavy alloy has higher density, high elastic stiffness, ductile and easy to machine, high melting point, versatility and recyclable
Disadvantages of tool steel:

1)  Water Hardening Steels : Usually the parts are quite small ; Not used in severe usage or elevated temperatures; Because their hardenability is low, they should be used only for thin sections; They are brittle, especially at their higher hardness; Prolonged exposure to temperatures over 300F usually results in undesired softening; Typical uses depending on the carbon content .

2) Shock Resisting steel :It has a tendency to distort easily, which can be minimized by oil quenching.

Hard Metal for Extrusion Die:

It is metallic carbide made from finely divided tantalum, titanium, tungsten, and/or vanadium mixed with carbon, and molten cobalt or nickel. Used mainly for machine tools,as replacement for high speed steels. Also called cemented carbide.
