    Anviloy 4000 is widely used for dies in the extrusion of metals, especially copper-based alloys where Anviloy 4000 can provide significantly longer life than the more traditional die materials. Tungsten alloy for welding similar to Anviloy 4000 is a particularly useful material from which to manufacture die casting tooling, especially for casting aluminum and brass.     Anviloy 4000 Used in Hot Riveting, Electrical Upsetting and Electroforming

    In these processes, heat is generated through the contact resistance of a die/electrode and by the passage of current through the component. Sufficient heat is generated to elevate the material to a plastic condition and pressure being applied to forge or displace the material into some predetermined shape or form.
    a) High strength in compression
    b) High hardness at elevated temperature
    c) Low electrical and thermal conductivity
    d) Good resistance to oxidation at elevated temperature
    e) Resistance to sticking to work being formed is ideal for this application, and will give long life when the component surfaces are smooth and regular. If the tungsten alloy rod similar to Anviloy 4000 component materials have a rough and irregular surface sticking can occur between electrode and upset position of the components.
