Tungsten Alloy Rod Similar to Anviloy 1150 Introduction:

Tungsten alloy rod (WMoNiFe) similar to Anviloy 1150 is a tungsten-based material made using special high temperature powder metallurgy techniques. This kind of WMoNiFe material has a low coefficient of thermal expansion, good thermal conductivity and good material properties at elevated temperatures. Tungsten alloy rod (WMoNiFe) similar to Anviloy 1150 is used as a base due to its high melting point and low coefficient of thermal expansion. Elements added to the tungsten alloy enhance machinability, ductility and welding. Material properties are established during the manufacturing of tungsten alloy rod (WMoNiFe) similar to Anviloy 1150 which eliminate the problems associated with heat treatment of other tool materials.

Tungsten alloy rod material is used in electrobrazing Anviloy 1150 applications where heat balance is important. The tungsten alloy rod (WMoNiFe) similar to Anviloy 1150 material also has good anti-sticking qualities and good high temperature abrasion and hardness properties. The oxidation resistance of both Anviloy 1150 materials is excellent up to 1100oF.
WMoNiFe is used as a base due to its high melting point and low coefficient of thermal expansion. These properties of Anviloy 1150 result in less thermal cracking and soldering with the die cast or extruded material. Elements of Anviloy 1150 added to the WMoNiFe enhance machinability, ductility, and welding. The good thermal conductivity provides an additional benefit to increase cooling in difficult to cool areas and potentially increases production rates. Material properties are established during WMoNiFe manufacturing which eliminates the problems associated with heat treatment of the other tool materials.

    Tungsten alloy rod is available in a line of rough shapes and finished products. Material is stocked in rough oversize to finish round bars 3/16" to 4" dia. x 12" long. Rectangular bars and finished Anviloy 1150 products can be readily manufactured to specifications.
    The high density of tungsten alloy rod (WMoNiFe) similar to Anviloy 1150 shrinks considerably during sintering. Depending upon design of Anviloy 1150 and configuration, parts of Anviloy 1150 may be pressed and sintered close to final size and configuration to minimize machining costs. Special shapes of Anviloy 1150 can often be pressed in the die and sintered to near net shape.
